DarkMoon doesn't have a lot of variety in his weaves, or at least in the weaves he has pictures of, but he does have a really kickass japaneese pattern, and some beautiful models.

The Los Alamos National Labratories has a site up about dumb stuff, this isn't that site. Here are papers on solid laser technology and chaos dynamics. the normal site is www.lanl.gov, not xxx.lanl.gov.....I've never felt so inadequate.
The Demons Image Archive has many a pic area. By itself The Lidless Eye has more Tolkien pictures than I know how to shake sticks at. Check out the Hildebrant section, those guys are GOOD! There are also pictures of the first and second ages in here. That's the only place I've seen them. There are also science fiction areas, and who knows what else. Good to blow a couple of days looking at.
Digital Blasphemy has a LOT of great 3D rendered desktops. My last five desktops came from here. Always being updated.
